The Doxology
My Shepherd met me in His green pastures and laid me down in Micah 3. The Mind of the Spirit greeted the spirit of my mind in verse 8:
Micah 3:8 ¶ But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
Micah rebuked the false prophets (Micah 2:6, 11; 3:5-6, 11). Rather than feeding the flock, these self-serving prophets devoured them (3:1-4). These are characterized as those who “hate the good, and love the evil” (Micah 3:2). Micah warned that when these “cry unto the LORD,” He will not hear them; He will hide His face from them at the time they cry to Him (Micah 3:4). (See Proverbs 1:28-30).
To the prophets that “make my people to err,” that is, to vacillate (waver, hesitate to move confidently forward in the will of GOD, to be indecisive). The effect of their teaching causes a wide variety of spiritual ills: making them susceptible to seducing spirits (1 Timothy 4:1-4), to go astray —that is, to stray from the right way —, to dissemble —that is, to hide their true intentions —, and to become deceptive. These behaviors characterize a flock taught by these false prophets.
The evil prophets bite with their teeth while crying “Peace” (Micah 3:5). Whoever among the flock does not “put into their mouths, they even prepare war against him” (Micah 3:5).
Vicious, like wolves, these prophets “love” the flock only so long as it feeds their appetites: “The priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money,” and vainly imagine God is with them (Micah 3:11).
What good do they bring to the “Land,” what benefit are they to their nation? “Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest” (Micah 3:12).
Such prophets bring their nation to ruin!
God promised to bring “night” upon them, “that [they will] not have a vision.” He declared: “It will be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine,” He said, “the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them” (Micah 3:6). They will be ashamed, and confounded. They will cover their lips, “for there is no answer of God” (Micah 3:7).
Read over the passage carefully. Do you notice what I did? that these were genuine prophets, who were gifted by God to speak His word, and were accustomed to God speaking through them His truth. They received God’s message, but “sold it” to feed themselves. These wicked God-called men fed themselves and not the flock of God (Ezekiel 34:8). The day would come when God cut them off and left them with a “vision” (message).
Along the still waters, the Spirit comforted me with verse 8. Micah testified that he was not among the flesh-serving prophets; he stepped away from them, and he would not sell himself to evil. “But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare” to our nation its transgression, and to God’s people their sin (Micah 3:8). His power, judgment, and might came from GOD.
His power is by the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18-21). This is my authority, and it accounts for the divine influence present in my preaching.
God’s judgment is made clear by accurate Bible teaching.
His might, or strength, is made perfect and manifested through my weaknesses.
I’ll stand with Micah outside the camps of compromised preachers.
In the valley, kneeling in the shadow of His Cross and praying for the many “Micahs” who stand apart from the ear ticklers and expose them. I’ll stand with the “shepherds” who use the Sword of the Spirit to protect the flock of God from the vicious wolves.
Jesus reminded me that many have left the path of the cross to take a worldly crown. He said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23).
At the table, He anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His grace. Goodness and mercy followed as we entered the harvest.
Praying for revival! 🙏

Thank you for your stand. Pray for Canada. The only hope is revival.
Amen 🙏 it reminds me of the government of the United States. The government is in place to for needs of the people, whether by monies and/or protection from evil doers. They are sorely lacking in all accounts. Governments are gluttonous while the people receive pittance.
