CHECK MY FEET! 20250621

Psalm 8:1 and Psalm 118:28, using a melody Grace Duncan shared with me some years ago. Grace is one of our very faithful ladies at the Lighthouse.

My Shepherd met me in His green pastures and laid me down in Esther. Esther 4:15-17 got my attention, and the Mind of the Spirit drew the spirit of my mind into communion there:

Esther 4:15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

Esther 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

Esther 4:17 So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

Verse seventeen stood out: “So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.” Esther commanded Mordecai. That’s interesting.

Along the still waters, I pondered this with regard to the fact that today we have many women in positions of authority in our government. This does not correct Paul, who said he would not suffer a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man (1 Timothy 2:12) in his instruction to Bishop Timothy, nor does it violate the divine order given in 1 Corinthians 11:3. It does provide an example of a woman in a position of authority in civil government and men obeying her just commands. Isaiah 3:12 tells us this is a condition of divine judgment and describes the politics of our day: “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.” The word rule translates מָ֣שְׁלוּ  (maw-shal’ — to rule, to have or make to have dominion, to govern, to reign). Again, the example set before us by Mordecai shows how a gentleman behaves when a woman is placed in a position of authority over him. Remember that in all cases of the exercise of authority, whether from a man or a woman, the commandment is the authority; if the command is right and just, the authority is in the rightness and justice of the command. An unrighteous or unjust commandment has no authority, no matter who gives it.

In the valley, I humbled myself in the shadow of His Cross and remembered Him, the King, God the Son, the Head of the Church, kneeling down at the feet of His servants to wash their feet (John 13:5-14)—the Head of the Church, His bride, humbling Himself to wash her feet. Selah!

The Spirit “bade” me deny myself, take up my cross, and follow Him (Luke 9:23). I did!

At the table, He anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His inestimable grace. He signaled goodness and mercy, who quickly moved to my chair to help me up. I asked Jesus, LORD, please check my feet. He did!

We walked together into the Harvest!

Praying for revival! 🙏

Psalms 8:1 and 123:1-2. My Shepherd met me in His green pastures and laid me down in Psalm 46. Twice, the Spirit describes God as present to help: Psalms 46:1 ¶ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:5 God is in the midst of her; she...

Another “will worship” morning (Colossians 2:23). I’ll use Psalms 123:1-2 and 20:1-4. My Shepherd met me looking about the Psalms for healing—it’s unusual for me to have a specific target during my devotions. He graciously met me in Psalm 6:2, the first psalm that...
