WHAT MAKES HEAVEN HAPPY? 20250609

Psalms 3:1-7a, 8:1, 31:1-3a.

My Shepherd is “the good shepherd” (John 10:11), Who entered into the sheepfold by the door (John 10:1—His Word), and Who, being “the Word” (John 1:1), is the Door (John 10:7), and Who gave His life for the sheep (John 10:11). He knows His own by name (John 10:14). I am one of those “other sheep” He came for, the lost sheep from among the Gentiles (John 10:16). He laid me down in His green pastures, in Luke 15. The Mind of the Spirit connected with the spirit of my mind in verses 7 and 10:

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

What makes Heaven happy? The angels rejoiced when the Word, Who is the Door, the good Shepherd, was “made flesh” (John 1:14) and heralded the appearing of the promised Christ to shepherds (Luke 2:14—“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”) The angels rejoiced at creation of the earth (Job 38:4-7), and when the Creator sent His Son to bring to the earth peace, and good will toward men (Luke 2:14). There is no record of GOD rejoicing at these events. However, when a sinner repents, “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God” (Luke 16:10). God rejoices when a sinner repents. He commands all men every where to repent (Acts 17:30).

Along the still waters, I reflected that God is made happy when He sees a sinner repent. I thought of how saddened He must be that so many preachers today purposely avoid preaching to sinners to repent. Also, the Spirit extended the principle to include the repentance He seeks from us (2 Corinthians 7:8-11; Revelation 2:5, 16, 21; 3:3, 19). God does not delight in afflicting us (Lamentations 3:33), so He rejoices when we repent.

In the valley, kneeling in the shadow of His Cross, I repented of my slowness of heart to believe, areas in my life where I know I resist His word. The Comforter came alongside to encourage me, and I sensed the LORD was pleased. I denied myself, took up my cross, and dedicated my life to follow Him Who came to “seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).

At the table, He anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His grace. Goodness and mercy followed close behind us as we went into the Harvest.

Don’t forget your tracts! Let’s make Heaven happy!

Praying for revival! 🙏

THE GOSPEL! 20250608

It’s a “will worship” morning (Colossians 2:23). My Shepherd met me foraging about in His green pastures, nibbling here and there, and directed my thoughts to “the gospel.” The Mind of the Spirit alerted the spirit of my mind to an insight in 1 Peter 1:25: 1 Peter...
