THE CRIERS ON THE WALL! 20250909

Psalm 8:1.

My Shepherd called me back to Isaiah, and laid me down in chapter 62, and He laid me down in verses 6-7:

Isaiah 62:6 ¶ I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

Isaiah 62:7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

The Mind of the Spirit attracted the spirit of my mind to verse 6 and to a thought concerning the walls upon which the Father set His watchmen.

The walls support the watchmen. In Jeremiah’s days, when the walls were destroyed, they remained “broken down, and the gates thereof … burned with fire” until Nehemiah repaired them (Jeremiah 51:58; Nehemiah 2:13 with 4:7; fulfilling Daniel 9:25—Selah!). God was silent from the time the walls were broken and burned to when they were restored under the ministry of Nehemiah.

Along the still waters, I reflected on the importance of the walls. Jesus testified that for many years, the Father sent prophets “upon the walls of Jerusalem” to call the people to repentance (Matthew 21:33-45). If He was silent during the period the walls were broken, that would mean the first prophets to extend His call after Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the walls of Jerusalem were Haggai and Zechariah.

Consider that Jeremiah was instructed not to pray for them in his day (Jeremiah 14:11, “Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good”). During Ezekiel’s ministry, the Glory departed from the Temple (Ezekiel 10:18 “Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims”).

All of this supports the observation that God pressed on me this morning: the walls support the callers. When the walls are broken down, the caller’s voice isn’t heard.

Let the walls represent God’s hedge about His people. The walls were broken and burnt with fire, but GOD has had pity and the walls are being restored. If His people heed the voice of those God sets upon the wall, if they heed the Word of GOD, they will be safe within His walls. If they refuse, they are overcome by the world and consumed by the devouring lion (1 John 2:15-16; 1 Peter 5:8).

In the valley, shadowed by His Cross, I reflected on the sad truth that many saints join the sinners who cast truth into the street, and succumb to the lure of this world because they refuse the criers on the wall. The Spirit spoke to my heart, saying, The Cross is the central message for both sinners and saints. To the sinner, the cry from “the wall” is, “Look and live” (Numbers 21:6-8; John 3:14-16). To the saint, the cry from the wall is the voice of Jesus, saying, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 98:23).

At the table, He anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His grace. Goodness and mercy followed us into the harvest.

Praying for revival! 🙏

THE PROOF OF LOVE! 20251001

Psalm 8:1 My Shepherd met me in His green pastures and laid me down in Revelation 1. Verse five came to mind this morning as I thought about the many ways God has shown the proof of His love. As I began creating a list, the Spirit interrupted me with Revelation 1:5-6:...
