Psalms 8:1, 16:1-3a, 139:23-24

My Shepherd met me in His green pastures, thinking about the current escalation of our action against the Shia Islamist occupation of Iran. He laid me down in Ezekiel 33, and the Spirit engaged my spirit at verse 2:

Ezekiel 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

No one in Iran can say the watchman failed to alert them. Trump has trumpeted his intentions without ambiguity.

GOD has made us “watchmen” (Ezekiel 33:7; see Mark 13:33, “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”)

The context of this exhortation to Ezekiel is the transfer of God’s sword from Judah to Babylon’s king Nebuchadnezzar (“And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh’s arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man” (Ezekiel 30:24),

Indeed, the prophet Jeremiah declared that God would send “the sword” upon Elam (Persia, aka, Iran): “For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them” (Jeremiah 49:37).

Along the still waters, I pondered: It appears God has once again drawn His sword against Elam.

Iranians yielded their country to the Mullahs in 1979. I was 28, and I remember these events. Obviously, I can’t go into it in any detail, but I can say that the Iranian people elected to remove the “Shah” (king) and yield to a “Constitutional Dictatorship” of an unelected Shia Islamic jurist (a Mullah). In the case of Iran, the people elected a dictatorship protected by their Constitution, giving supreme power to the Khomeini regime. It was a dictatorship by consent of the governed. The result was immediately felt around the world, and especially in the U.S. It began with what we now call the Iranian Hostage Crisis, ended by the election of President Ronald Reagan.

I am not accusing the people of Iran for the atrocities of the Shia regime, but I am sounding the trumpet to the U.S. that these people voting to turn our country over to a quasi “Constitutional Dictatorship” of the proletariat are falling into the same trap.

We had better sound the “trumpet.” Pray for President Trump, our Troops, and the people of Iran, who have awakened, see, and presently feel the mistake that was made then. PRAY!

In the valley, I knelt in the shadow of His Cross and rejoiced that Christ, our King and our GOD, wrested death from Satan’s grip (Hebrews 2:14) and broke the power of darkness over our souls (Colossians 1:13; see Acts 26:18). We must “sound the trumpet” to this world, for Christ is coming soon, and His sword, I think, is already drawn from its scabbard (Revelation 19:11). We must not keep the Sword of the Spirit hidden, preach the word of GOD and warn the wicked and the nations that forget God, Hell is coming (Psalm 9:17; Revelation 6:8), for their “time is always ready” (John 7:6). Selah!

At the table, my Shepherd anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His grace. Goodness and mercy followed us into the harvest.

Praying for revival! 🙏
