Psalms 123:1-2, 31:1-3a, and 8:1
My Shepherd met me in His green pastures and laid me down in Psalm 20. The Mind of the Spirit engaged the spirit of my mind in verse 7:
Psalms 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
David went up against Goliath, smaller, weaker, and less experienced. He did not defeat the enemy because he was a champion among men, but because he was a champion with GOD.
Rabshakeh, captain of Sennacherib’s army, worshipper of Ashur, chief god of Assyria, besieged Jerusalem and boasted that no gods or armies had prevailed against Assyria, and so neither could the God of Israel protect them from Sennacherib, king of Assyria (Isaiah 36:18-20; 37:11-13). What Sennecherib did not understand is that the very GOD he blasphemed is the one who gave him his power and increased him while decreasing the people and their gods, to conquer them easily (Isaiah 37:26-29).*
Along the still waters, I prayed GOD would speak to Trump’s heart, and to all our leaders and warriors, not to trust in their “chariots” or “horses” but to look to Christ, the Captain of the Lord’s host: To remember, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8-9): To beware the curse God has pronounced against the man “that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm” (Jeremiah 17:5-7).
And to all the faithful but ignorant patriot-Christians raising their voice against the alliance of the U.S. and Israel, you have need “that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat” (Hebrews 5:12).
I remind you, “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God” (Psalm 146:3). Christ is their Messiah promised in the “oracles of God” (Romans 3:2; see Hebrews 5:12 and 1 Peter 4:11). Keep this close to your heart, along with the truth that “the kingdom” is given to a Gentile nation (Matthew 21:43), nevertheless, “salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:24). We will do well to remember the warning that we who have been grafted into the cultivated Olive Tree must not boast against the branches cut off, but rather we are exhorted to “Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee” (Romans 11:17-18). Friend, we are nourished from the root of Abraham’s faith, and we now live by the faith of the Son of God (Galatians 2:20-21), the promised virgin-born child of promise (Isaiah 7:14; see Genesis 3:15)—a promise made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Will you curse your root? We are warned: “Be not highminded, but fear: for if God spared not the natural branches, take heed that he also spare not thee” (Romans 11:20-21).
In the valley, I heard the voice of my Shepherd calling me to suit up and fall in to formation: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23). The order comes from GOD, the Head of Christ, through Christ, the Head of man (1 Corinthians 11:3). Let us align ourselves in the place we are assigned in Heaven’s chain of command. We cannot resist the devil with effect until first we have submitted to God with humility (James 4:7). It is the Devil that stands behind flesh and blood tyranny.
At the table, my Shepherd anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His grace. Goodness and mercy hastened at His command, and followed us into the harvest.
Praying for revival! 🙏

[*The worshippers of Allah boast like this vain worshipper of Ashur, the god of the Assyrians. Consider this shocking example, and notice that the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (today’s counterpart to Sennacherib’s Rabshakeh) invokes the name of the god of Assyria, Ashur, in his statement: “The Ashura-loving nation of Iran does not fear your paper threats,” Larijani wrote. “Even those greater than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation. Watch out for yourself — lest you be eliminated” (Ali Larijani, Secretary, Supreme National Security Council, Today, March 10, 2026).]
