Psalms 8:1 and 16:2
My Shepherd laid me down in Ezra. As I read the account of the Jews in Jerusalem rebuilding their Temple destroyed by Babylon (585 BC), the Mind of the Spirit quickened the spirit of my mind with the prophecy that they will rebuild their Temple that was destroyed by Rome (AD 70). (Ezra 5-6 is where I was reading. Daniel tells us the Temple will be in service during the time the Man of Sin rises to power, which puts it in the future beyond its destruction by Rome in AD 70. Daniel 8:11-13; 11:31; 12:11 ; see 2 Thessalonians 2:4 with Daniel 7:8, 20; 9:27; see also Daniel 11:36-38).
It will happen during these last days (Hebrews 1:3; Isaiah 2 and Micah 4).
The Orthodox Jews desire to follow the pattern given in Ezekiel 40-48. However, the consensus of conservative Rabbis is that this Temple will not be built until the “Messianic era, or with divine providence” — divine intervention — clarifying ambiguities, such as the measurement of a cubit, which is debated as being either 1.43 or 1.84 feet.
The expectation that the Messiah must first appear is based on Zechariah’s prophecy that Christ will come and “build the temple of the LORD” (Zechariah 6:12-13). This prophecy also predicts that He will “sit and rule upon his throne; and shall be a priest upon his throne” (Zechariah 6:13). Isaiah declared Christ would sit upon the throne of David (Isaiah 9:7, 16:5). Recent advances in the discovery of David’s palace inspire hopes of finding his throne, thereby facilitating the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecies.
It is believed that the exact length of the cubit cannot be known until the Messiah is present. The conservatively inclined Jews agree that until the defilement of the Gentiles (Muslims) now occupying the Mount is cleansed, no Temple can be constructed on the site.
Nevertheless, preparations are moving forward in earnest.*
The cornerstone for the Third Temple has been prepared by a group called The Temple Mount Faithful, led by Geshon Salomon.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has openly advocated for the construction of the Third Temple.
The Orthodox Jews have reestablished the Sanhedrin, which uses its voice and influence to promote building the Third Temple.
In 2019, the Sanhedrin attempted to reenact an animal sacrifice on the Mount of Olives, but authorities interfered, fearing local and international reprisals.
The law calls for a purification of the defiled land by the sacrifice of a red heifer (Numbers 19:2-10). In 2022, Israel acquired five red heifers from the U.S.
The Temple Institute has trained Levites in the rituals of the Temple. The idea is that the priests will be ready for immediate service when the Temple is rebuilt.
The Levitical Choir has prepared for service with reproductions of the silver trumpets and has performed for Sukkot at the Temple Mount’s Southern Wall, practicing Psalm 27.
Detailed architectural plans have been prepared, based on the interpretations of scholars Rashi and Vilna Gaon of Ezekiel 40-47. These plans are ready to be submitted to the Jerusalem Municipality at any moment.
A 95-pound golden menorah ($2 million) has been manufactured for Temple use. The Priestly Garments are prepared according to Moses’ Law, including the High Priest’s breastplate. The musical instruments have been prepared: gold-plated shofars and silver trumpets, along with stringed instruments. The altar and sacrificial tools have been prepared.*
Along the still waters, as I reflected on this, I thought of the upheaval required for the Temple to be rebuilt. They don’t need the Ark for a Third Temple any more than they required it for their Second. But the location? The facts are these: first, the Tabernacle had multiple locations until Solomon fulfilled David’s dream. There are legitimate arguments supporting the idea that neither the Dome of the Rock nor the Aqsa Mosque occupies the Temple site. Legitimate scholarship supports the idea that the Third Temple could be built on its original site without requiring the removal of either of the Muslim sites. However, the present situation does not allow for any Jewish Temple to be constructed next to the Muslim Dome or Mosque anywhere on the “holy mount.”
Micah 4:5 tells us religious liberty will become the mantra of the Middle East in the last days. That cannot happen without a radical transformation occurring in modern-day Islam. Additionally, Genesis 49:13 informs us that in the last days (Genesis 49:1; Hebrews 1:3), Zebulon will occupy a haven with borders extending into Zidon (Genesis 49:13). This has yet to be fulfilled in Israel’s history. It will require a very significant expansion of Israel’s territory into Lebanon. If we assume Israel will maintain a contiguous boundary, it means Israel would extend its border into Lebanon about 50 miles to the border of Sidon and Beirut. They will stop just shy of Lebanon’s capital.**
At no time in my life has the geopolitical landscape looked more favorable for the fulfillment of these prophecies. Trump, whom God used to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital formally, and throw America’s military entirely behind Israel’s conflicts with its neighboring Muslim antagonists, and Israel’s agitation for rebuilding her Temple, and aggressive response to Hamas, and Hezbollah, all move history in the direction of these prophecies. Even the recent revelations suggesting Epstein worked as an asset for Mossad (Israeli Intelligence) show its corrupt side (See Revelation 11:8 with Isaiah 2:6-9), along with frustrations our ambassador, Huckabee, is having with Israel regarding its soft persecution against Christians.
I began to hear the Spirit speaking Christ’s words to my heart: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14).
In the valley, my Shepherd called: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23).
At the table, He anointed my head with His oil and filled my cup with His grace. We walked together into the harvest. I checked over my shoulder and nodded at goodness and mercy following close behind!
The Spirit encouraged me to look up for His shout, and out for the harvest! In either case, “looking unto Jesus.”
Praying for revival! 🙏
Going live asap.
